About
Here is a short summary of my professional background.
Following studies in somatic psychotherapy in the early 1980s in London, I completed undergraduate degrees in health, and postgraduate studies in sociology and psychotherapy. I worked in human service organisations for thirty years in direct practice, leadership, and clinical supervisory roles, and have maintained a private practice as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor for twenty-five years.
I was previously co-director and senior trainer at psychotherapy institutes in Brisbane and Sydney Australia. I have also worked extensively with organisations in the areas of leadership coaching and organisational development.

Services
Psychotherapy
I work with adult individuals and couples. My general therapeutic intent is to support developing a strong, positive sense of self-in-relationship for the people I work with.
In first sessions we explore your background and current situation to understand the origin of the difficulties you are dealing with. On the basis of a shared understanding of the problems, we collaborate on selecting the best way forward to improve or resolve your difficulties.
The process of therapy is largely conversational in nature. However, depending on your specific therapeutic goals, needs and interests, we may also employ methods designed to heal early relational trauma, or work in non-ordinary states to access and work with forgotten or unintegrated experiences.
Psychotherapy can assist with issues such as:
Post-traumatic stress
General life stresses
Loss and grief
Anxiety
Depression
Relationship problems
Abuse history
Addictions
Poor self-esteem
Other Consulting Services
Psychedelic Integration
I provide preparation and integration services to clients who choose to use ‘underground’ psychedelics as part of their healing process. I provide these services from a harm reduction perspective.
Coaching
Executive and leadership coaching services are available to select clientele. Coaching fees are negotiated on an individual basis.
NB. I do not provide illegal / ‘underground’ psychedelic services, nor do I refer clients to those who do. I acknowledge that psychedelics are currently illegal in Australia (despite the recent rescheduling). I do not encourage or endorse the illegal use of psychedelics. I do support decriminalisation of these medicines and acknowledge they have been used for thousands of years in many indigenous societies.
